Em 2009 fiz uma série de colagens sobre o tema dinheiro. Sob o título de Conto-cápsula em 5 Movimentos, esse conjunto de peças foi construído a partir de fragmentos de tv, tendo no texto seu grande foco.

ABSOLETO surge da desafiadora proposta do selo paulistano Al revés de tratar do mesmo tema, fazer a mesma crítica, dessa vez utilizando apenas o som. É uma situação parecida com a do cego que pinta um quadro, tem a ver com sinestesia e com a tradução-arte de Augusto de Campos.

Talvez na década de 60 isso fosse concebido com mais clareza mas hoje já não há essa preocupação. Ao mesmo tempo, se pensado apenas como uma questão de paradigma, essa proposta se torna um prato cheio frente a tudo que se fez nos últimos 60 anos na chamada música eletroacústica. Foi nesse campo que trabalhei, tentando, não traduzir, mas ampliar o conteúdo da mensagem, como se agora o cego visse: mas não aquilo que nós vemos.

In 2009, I have made a series of sound collages with Money as their theme. Entitled Conto-cápsula em 5 Movimentos, these pieces were built from fragments of TV sounds, focusing mainly on the text.

ABSOLETO arises from a challenge made by the netlabel Al Revés: to address the same theme and critique using only sounds and disregarding any form of speech. Similar to a blind person painting a canvas, it has to do with synesthesia and the translation-art of Augusto de Campos.

Maybe in the 60s all of this was conceived with greater clarity, but today this is not a concern any longer. If you think about it only as a paradigm, it becomes a rich challenge: to face what has been done in the last 60 years of the so-called electroacoustic music. I tried not to translate, but rather to expand the content of the message, as if the blind could now see, but not what we see.
