about

I. From Recording: about sounds of a door handle and a watering can

II. From Performing: Instrumental Untying - about two improvisations with instruments made with wires

III. From Writing: Moto Perpetuo - about a string quartet score with the adoption of digital medium as fifth voice

“Procedural Convergence” presents three pieces that are quite different from one another regarding the sound materials and technical procedures used in its creation. Such procedures converge, however, in musical structures that share the same compositional intent to experiment with musical temporality.

The names of the pieces are technical descriptors of the creation processes involved, aiming at freeing the listener's mind to wander through the presumed purposes of sounds in their continuous transformations. The invitation I give to the listener is to try to simply enjoy the aesthetic experience of these transformations and not to worry too much about its rationalization.
